Born in Fairfax, Virginia on July 15, 1986, Chris Ray grew up in suburbia as your typical outcast. He enjoyed the act of drawing but never took it to any level he considered art until high school where he then decided to make it his life. Chris had a brief stint at Virginia Commonwealth University before being diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, where he returned home for treatment and continued his schooling at George Mason University. OCD has greatly influenced his artwork when it comes to “obsession” to detail and classicism, but as treatment continues, has become more “compulsive” in response to audience reactions and interest in the trashy aspect of media and culture.
